Johnny`s in Union

This is the 2nd time my husband and I have gone there for a special occasion and bothered time the over priced thin ribeye was riddled with grissel! The first time I sent it back and they gladly made me a different one. This time the owner came out and argued with me saying it’s usda grade A cut of meat. Oh I beg to differ and pointed it out to him only to have him argue that he it’s that cut all the time! Well I’m sure he hand picks his steak and doesn’t have to pay $20 for a subpar cut of steak and it doesn’t advertise it’s thin cut ribeye! So they brought me back that same steak cold and expected me to eat it. I will never ever go back!! Steer clear if you’re wanting a good steak!!

The service here was terrible. The steaks me and my daughter ordered were little and undercooked as well. The waitress took our food before my little girl was done eating her spaghetti. My wife was so disgusted with her roast beef she didnt even eat it. Will not be coming back!

Great food, excellent service and reasonable prices!

This restaurant is underrated. We have been here seven times at least and the food is always phenomenal. It tastes fresh and homemade. On a recent visit, l had the Chicken Modega. What is their secret? The chicken breast was juicy and fork tender with a white wine mushroom sauce. Fantastic! My sides of broccoli and salad were perfect accompaniments. One of my favorite restaurants in this area. I wish l could save room for dessert.

Service is always great. Would love to have something on the menu with a garlic/butter sauce..

Great place for lunch

Clean. Friendly. Fast service. Kid friendly... The food was phenomenal! We had ravioli. Very yummy. Sauce was fresh. Everything just tasted fresh and natural. Not over seasoned or salty. We found this place just driving through Missouri. Glad we did. We will be back. 5 stars and I am not a local.

Food is generally excellent. Service is hit and miss. Countless times over the years I've went in at lunch and not been acknowledged when the restuarant was near empty and sat 10 minutes. Today the waitress walked by me 5 times, only had one table before me and had already placed their order. Never made eye contact and I'm certain didn't see me. Over the last 10 years or so they have consistently been horrible about checking the middle sections during off peak times and the awareness is generally low

Service has been good each time we've been. Love the bread appetizer and the oil/ garlic pasta is amazing! Please fix the cocktail sauce, too much horse radish.

My family eats here often. We love the atmosphere and waitresses are always friendly. If Johnny is usually always there to greet you as you check out. And he makes sure everything was to your satisfaction!!

I had the rib eye special. The steak was good quality and prepared well. Definitely enjoyed the food and prices are reasonable.

I love Johnny's Restaurant and come here quite often. Staff is exceptionally friendly and food is always great. Prices are not bad and the waitresses always keep my drink filled. Awesome food, awesome service. Well worth the drive!

Best Prime Rib! Friendly staff

Waitress was very friendly and the place was really clean,The olive oil and garlic appetizer was excellent but the bread served with it is white rolls and we really prefer italian bread with that.The rolls were homemade as was all the other bread and it was really good and served hot.I got the double burger and it was huge and very good and my parents got the regular steak burgers and loved them.My husband got the famous steak sandwhich and it was not as impressive only one tiny piece of meat on it.The portion size on the fries is a little skimpy too.Overall this place is pretty good and I would love to go back and try the pasta.Just order extra fries and avoid the olive oil unless you will like it with the hot rolls.but they are better just with butter on them.

3.5 stars really. Why? It's a good hometown Italian restaurant, nothing spectacular, just good food at a good price. Service is friendly, but sometimes slow. Decor is dated and booth seating is really worn. A must have is the potato soup. Delicious. On my recent visit I got the Cod sandwich. It was very hot and very big. I had to cut it in half. It tasted good and I liked it. It came with homemade tartar sauce... which tasted like mayonnaise. And some bland potato salad. My husband got the spaghetti with one meatball. They use fettuccine noodles and he liked it, said the meatball was pretty good also. If you're in town and you're looking for good Italian this is the place to go to. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Good comfort food and excellent service

Food is great. Wait persons are nice. Prime rib is phenomenal. The reason I give it four stars is because the best waitress in the world, Lynn is leaving for greener pastures. She will be greatly missed after 19 years of being with Johnny's back when it was Di Gecintos. If after Lynn's departure the wait staff and employees are as wonderful as Lynn I will adjust my rating accordingly.

Nice place with weekday lunch specials. We had the catfish special and liked it. Our waitress was great and we would definitely visit again.

Red sauce on chicken parmigiana and spaghetti was very bland, steak was so bad tasting had to be sent back. Meatball sub was it’s saving grace. Bread was really hard and stale. Waitress took the steak back and took it off the bill, came out and explained that the owner said he will not make anything else for us. We said fine and wrote a bad review, as we were checking out the owner began attacking us about the review. Owner is a complete jerk (Johnny), but I was also told his brother and wife(I assume) are just as ignorant. Customer is always wrong here. Just look at their reviews, wish I had before I went. Several friends and co-workers told me they don’t go there anymore either do to the owners attitudes and arrogance.

We have enjoyed eating here. The food is quite good and the service is good too. It's the variable hours that drive the experience down. This is the 2nd time we've driven an hour + to meet family here, just to turn around and go elsewhere. The website didnt have updated hours even. Well worth the drive, if you can find them open.

Wings were Terrible tonight and pizza was COLD! Usually good food, cook was lazy tonight, obviously.

If there were 10 stars they would fit the bill. I’ve never been to a place more inviting and where the staff makes you feel like family. The first time we went there our waitress went over the top to help my daughter. We’ve never had staff at a restaurant do that. Most over look her and her needs. Food is amazing!!! Friday night prime rib is a MUST! Their soup and salad, especially the potato soup, are a regular staple with us now. I highly recommend coming here!

Loved supporting some local folks! Great bread, super cute atmosphere, everything came out super fast. They're very family friendly and have great, friendly staff. We came for lunch and had their famous cheese steak. It does taste like it's from the east coast! Great fries as well. If you're passing through this part of Missouri and need a great place to stop, stop here!

This place was truly amazing. I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries and wife got the prime rib sandwhich. We also got the homemade bread with olive oil dip. Everything was amazing. Dont listen to the negative reviews.. this was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. And the waitresses go above and beyond. One waitress (wasn't even our waitress) offered to box up our leftover dip AND gave us a whole to go box of their homemade bread to go with it. Will definitely make this our go to spot for dinner!

My family was just coming back from my aunt’s funeral and all wanted to stop at Johnny’s Restaurant! It was 7:30 am and they close at 8pm! The owner gladly took all 26 of us in fed us with prompt and excellent service with a smile! The food was excellent! This was the fastest service I have ever received and restaurant was patient and understanding! I recommend Johnny’s 100%. You will not be disappointed. Thank you all!
